Undomesticated
MAXXI The National Museum of XXI Century Arts, Rome, IT

In a period of forced social isolation, the growing dissociation and disbelief of current social structures and world dynamics, new forms of communities emerge to redefine domesticity as a response to global concerns - political, environmental and social.

In an effort to transform their surrounding environment, intentional communities materialize, sharing a common vision, principles and values, they aim to reshape and redesign social principles by creating micro-environments from which emerge new domestic typologies. These groups redefine the concept of domesticity and the structure of communal living. Domesticity is a concept that goes beyond the four walls of a house, domestic space is a place of security, comfort and shared identity.

Undomesticated is a documentary film that aims to portray new approaches to contemporary living. Focused on self-isolating and self-sustaining communities that propose an alternative approach to everyday life, the film aims to portrait the pursuit for a way of life that can reflect their vision of the world.
